Swedish Åsa Larsson's English debut The Savage Altar was shortlisted for The Duncan Lawrie International Dagger. The book has now been released in the US titled Sun Storm.
The themes in Åsa Larsson's crime fiction draw from the Old Testament. The setting is northernmost Sweden, where the lawyer Rebecka Martinsson finds herself forced to deal with violent crimes, as well as her own unnerving demons from the past.
