Håkan Nesser
Cosmopolitan Håkan Nesser always writes his first drafts by hand, and then rewrites the entire story 8-10 times before he is satisfied. Håkan Nesser follows in the steps of Sjöwall-Wahlöö and Henning Mankell by having written a series of ten crime fiction novels starring the same inspector.
In Nesser's case the central character is Van Veeteren, a somewhat cynical inspector whose main area of experise is the psychological aspects of crimes. When the series starts Van Veeteren has only one unsolved crime on his resume, the case "G".
