Henning Mankell, The Return of the Dancing Master
"the story... has a density that demands -- and
rewards -- intellectual involvement."
- The New York Times
The Return of the Dancing Master is an independent crime fiction novel from Henning Mankell, which is not part of the Kurl Wallander series.
Police officer Stefan Lindman is diagnosed with cancer. Unwilling to face up to his disease, he decides to go to a small rural community in northern Sweden, where Herbert Molin, a retired colleague, has been murdered.
Investigating the crime, Lindman is shaken to find out that his former colleague was a lifelong Nazi sympathizer. Lindman's alternative "treatment" has unexpectedly brought him into the middle of an international ring of neo-Nazis.
