Johan Theorin
Swedish Johan Theorin draws inspiration from his dreams. Consequently his captivating storytelling fuses realism with the fantastical. In addition to the procedure of solving crimes, Theorin focuses on the human realities that follow in the wake of a crime.
But he does so by creating a ghostly atmosphere where unblessed souls intermingle with the struggling survivors, evoking the works of Edgar Allan Poe.
The Darkest Room and Echoes from the Dead are the first two books in a quartet where each installment is set in a different season on the Swedish island of Öland. The changing seasons affect the island landscape, as well as the people and the action in each book.
