Kerstin Ekman
Chair number 15 in the Swedish Academy has remained empty since Kerstin Ekman walked out of the meeting room in protest, 21 years ago. She has, however, continued writing psychologically charged high-caliber crime fiction.
Her unique stories are set in remote areas in northern Sweden where the absence or abundance of sun light plays an important part in people's lives and fates.
