Kerstin Ekman, Blackwater
"Blackwater is rich in psychological nuance and
character. Highly recommended."
- Library Journal
Blackwater is set in an isolated community in northern Sweden. On midsummer the teacher Annie Raft stumbles upon the bodies of two campers, apparently stabbed to death in their sleep.
The murder investigation implicate many of the residents in the secluded neighborhood; among them the local physician, who could have mistaken the campers for his wife and her lover.
Eighteen years later Annie Raft recognizes a mysterious young man she saw running through the woods that ominous night. He is now her daughter's lover. Annie's realization sets in motion a spiral of dreadful events that lead to the shocking end.
